REGMIFA Releases the 2025 Edition of the 60 Decibels Microfinance Index

REGMIFA is pleased to present the 2025 edition of the 60 Decibels Microfinance Index, a global initiative that measures and compares impact data directly from microfinance clients worldwide. By capturing client voices at scale, the Index provides a clearer understanding of how financial services shape the daily lives of low-income households.

Now in its fourth year, the initiative provides one of the most comprehensive perspectives on client experience in Financial Inclusion, supporting institutions and investors to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

Key highlights:

For the 2025 edition, REGMIFA supported data collection across a growing group of Partner Lending Institutions (PLIs). This year’s publication reflects insights from 2,881 end-borrowers, surveyed across 10 PLIs operating in 8 countries.

The findings illustrate how REGMIFA-backed institutions are contributing to expanding financial access, strengthening household resilience, and improving livelihoods. Notably, 66% of clients surveyed were first-time users of formal financial services, underscoring REGMIFA’s continued role in reaching underserved communities.

The Index organizes client outcomes into six dimensions—including access, business and household impact, client protection, resilience, and agency—providing a clear framework to assess how financial services shape clients’ daily lives.

REGMIFA’s results are presented alongside both African and global benchmarks, offering a transparent view of where partner institutions stand in relation to their peers.

This year’s analysis reaffirms the commitment of REGMIFA and its partners to measuring what matters and ensuring that financial inclusion efforts translate into meaningful, positive change for the communities they serve.
