GLS Senior Notes issued by REGMIFA Retain Strong “A/Stable” Rating from Creditreform Rating AG

Geneva, December 12, 2024 – Creditreform Rating AG (CRA) has reaffirmed its A/Stable rating for the GLS Senior Notes issued by the Regional MSME Investment Fund for Sub-Saharan Africa SA, SICAV-SIF. This rating, first assigned in November 2021, reflects the high credit quality and low investment risk associated with the notes, underscoring the Fund’s robust financial management and strategic focus.

The Regional MSME Investment Fund for Sub-Saharan Africa (REGMIFA) plays a pivotal role in driving economic development by investing into micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), across sub-Saharan Africa. These investments are facilitated through debt capital, primarily senior debt and mezzanine financing instruments, distributed via financial intermediaries. Symbiotics Asset Management S.A. serves as the investment manager, leveraging its expertise to channel funds into MSMEs, which are the backbone of local economies.

CRA’s reaffirmation of the A/Stable rating signals confidence in the Fund’s ability to meet its financial obligations while maintaining its commitment to fostering sustainable development in the region. This rating also reflects the Fund’s strong governance, prudent risk management, and focus on delivering financial returns and positive social impact.
